Wild IDEAS
"Under construction"
Background
This is just a collection of things I try now and then, they might or might not work, but it's fun to try something wild once in a while.
Franky!!! Don't ask! :(
Don't try this at home unless you know what you are doing, the 9V battery PACKs a punch, and can supply a couple of AMPS of current so you'll have to be carefull not tu burn something.
This uses the same circuit than the
Dragster project
In case you are wondering I didn't get any good results with this thing it's just for intimidation purposes, several errors on the design, the belt slips, the rig weights a ton. this is just to show than anything is possible!

Good luck and happy modding!
Custom Gear Ratios
I ordered a couple of Pager motors (TOP) from E-bay at $1 each. This things are huge. I should've asked for dimentions before buying. Oh well!!! They came with nice springs attached these are of the same diameter as the turning buckels so with a little adjusting they fit nice to create custom shocks!
But this is about gears so let's get to it!
This is the only place where this BIG boy can fit without doing a major chassis MOD, I don't like invasive mods so that's where it will stay.

I added a small piece of double sided tape between the motor and the motor mount. and One of the MANY blue gears I had laying around. This setup will give you an exact  4:1 gear ratio.

YOu'll need lots of torque to get this thing up to speed. But once you get going you should be able to break the ZZ land speed record in no time! :)

BTW: that's not DIRT on the gears I tend to coat everything with Powdered Graphite.
Swapping motors is a breeze just remove the motor mount and you are set.
Another look:
This particular motor is not performing that good, Most pager motors are rated at less than 10,000rpm at 1.5v So you really have to send them serious juice to get them cooking, the motor from the dragster does 24,000rpm peak. Still nothing compared to the 3.8 bit motor rated at 38,000 can't wait to get one of those. But this one is much slower I'm yet to put it on the tach and see but I know is not even close.
Maybe I'll try the rest of the motors to see if I can at least  do 24,000rpm which will transilate to 6000rpm to the tires on an ideal world. The best a 38,000 can do with the 8.25:1 gears is 4600rpm.
