| My disabilities are congenital. They are the result of Rh incompatibility. My loving parents encouraged me to disregard my disablites and inspired me to perform as any other child. Despite my deafness and cerebral palsy, I have made several accomplishments that have deeply enriched my life. |
| Achievements: |
| Attended Little Rock, Arkansas public school. Attended Garland Elementary 1955-1960. I applaud the Little Rock School District for providing me educational opportunities before Public Law mandated it. This was also during the time of the integration of Central High School and the Crisis of 1957. |

| Graduate of the Arkansas School for the Deaf (ASD). Selected as Oustanding Male Student at ASD and also an Outstanding Teenager in America in 1971. Salutatorian for my graduating class in 1971. |

| First multiply disabled graduate from Arkansas at Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C., in 1979 with a BA in Economics. |
 |
| Life Member, Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity |

| Appointed, by then Governor Bill Clinton, to the Governor's Developmental Disabilities Council and served from 1988 to 1995. |
| President of Kiwanis Club of Little Rock-Hilltop, 1983-84 |

| First multiply disabled graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) in 1990 with a BA in History. Also served as Marshall at graduation ceremonies. |
