WD9EWK/VA7EWK and ARRL Field Day
Updated 2 July 2009
In past years, I would be one of many operators in a larger group participating
in the ARRL
Field
Day exercise, but in recent times I have wanted to try it myself.
After working some stations from my home in Arizona in June 2000, I decided I
would only do this if I was able to operate away from home. With the
advent of small portable HF transceivers like the
Yaesu FT-817 and the
Icom IC-703, this is
possible - and fun!
Here is a listing of my Field Day operations:
- Field Day 2000, on 24-25 June 2000 as WD9EWK from Glendale,
Arizona (at home)
- Field Day 2001, on 23-24 June 2001 as
WD9EWK from Flagstaff, Arizona
