During the war the plane that the boy’s were traveling on was shot down because it was mistaken as a military plane. The plane crashes on a deserted island and the boys were left alone by themselves on the island. They were all scattered on the island and they couldn’t find the pilot, and people meet people that they didn’t know before. Ralph meets Piggy for the first time, Piggy is a chubby school boy. The boys form groups and begin to separate from each other.
Carrying a stick sharpened into a spear, Jack drags a pig through the jungle.  He walks back to the beach where Ralph and Simon at work building huts for the children to live in. Ralph is annoyed because nuts always fall down before they are complete. As he and Simon work, most of the other boys splash about and play in the lagoon. Ralph gripes that few of the boys are doing any work. He says that all the boys act excited and energized by the ideas and plans that they make at meetings, but none of them is willing to work to make the plans successful.
Jack and the kids return from the jungle, covered with blood and chanting a messed up song. They carry a dead pig on a stake between them. Ralph asks Jack about the signal fire and if he wants it. Ralph then lunges toward Jack. Jack admits that Ralph was the reason that the signal fire wasn‘t taking place. But he refuses to apologize to Piggy. The boys again use Piggy's glasses to light a fire, then they roast the pig, and the hunters dance crazy around the fire, singing and reenacting the savagery of the hunt. Ralph tells everyone that he is calling a meeting, and he stalks down the hill toward the beach alone
That afternoon they find pig droppings on their journey. Jack has the idea that they should hunt for the pig while looking for the. It hits off the animal's snout. Jack holds up a bloodied arm, which was grazed by the boar's body. The boar runs away. Excited, they reenact the chase among themselves with a boy named Robert playing the boar. They dance and chant and jab Robert with their spears, eventually losing sight of the fact that they are only playing a game. Beaten and in danger, Robert tries to drag himself away. The group nearly kills Robert before they remember themselves.
Simon wakes up to the air dark and humid with an approaching storm. His nose is bleeding, and he walks toward the mountain in a daze. He crawls up the hill and, in the failing light, he sees the dead pilot with his flapping parachute. Upon seeing the parachute rise and fall with the wind, Simon realizes that the boys have mistaken this harmless object for the deadly beast that has plunged their entire group into chaos. When Simon sees the dead guy he begins to throw up all over the place. When he has finished throwing up, he untangles the parachute lines, freeing the parachute from the rocks. Simon stumbles toward the distant light of the fire at Jack
Jack and Ralph get in a fight because Ralph took Piggy’s glasses to start the signal fire. Piggy broke the conch and it shattered into many pieces. Simon sees that lord of the flies and gets all freaked out and then the officers rescue them and that is that and all that are living have a good story to tell.
