Tuesdays with Morrie Essay
“In our lives we will live happily, and then die”. In the novel Tuesdays with Morrie we are told about an old college professor named Morrie that has a disease called ALS. As the novel goes on the author (who is an old student of Morrie’s) saw Morrie on the television. Hence, Mitch Album decides to go and visit his old professor; then he starts to record the conversations he and Morrie have. As a result the novel Tuesdays with Morrie results from these conversations. Everyone you meet is important; but if they are unique you will remember them forever.

“What’s wrong with being number two” (page159), this was said by Morrie Schwartz in the novel Tuesdays with Morrie. This quote relates to everyone; because it says that you do not have to be the best, just try as hard as you can. This will help everyone in their lives; for the simple reason that it shows them it is great to be the best you can be, even if it does not make you the best at what ever you are trying to do. “Slot machines take all of your money, so does your older brother”. This quote means that older bothers can sometimes be mean and take your money, and I can relate to this because my older brother takes my money all the time. This is important to all younger brothers in the world, so they can spend their hard earned money!

Everyone you meet is important; but if they are unique you will remember them forever. If you try hard in whatever you put your mind to, you are always a winner. And if you hide you money you can keep all of it. In the novel Tuesdays with Morrie we are shown that death can be a sad occurrence, even if you have never met that person; as a result you should respect and love everyone. I did like the novel Tuesdays with Morrie, and I would say you should have sophomores read it every year. The novel shows how much one man can make us all think about death, and most of all the quality of life.
