Trees appear as silhouettes this morning,
A blanket of white hovers over the stream,
Out of the trees, without any warning,
Out of the trees comes your very worst dream.

The mist turns to ice in a slow cooling.
Out of the ice storm, seemingly lost,
Stealthily creeping, nobody’s fooling,
Silently sneaking, the Monsters of Frost.

They come quietly in the night,
Into my life as I sleep away,
Not a sound do they make,
I awake and then to my delight,
You've got mail (15) today.
I must take a look, I can not wait,
Friends from near, friends from far,
They come quietly in the night.

A cross-eyed young turtle named Myrtle
Couldn’t get out of her girdle.
“I think that is why”,
Said her steady guy,
“We're unable to show that we're fertile.”

To jest, a joke, a funny act -
Sometimes it’s also called a prank.
It’s when one behaves without tact,
Giving somebody’s chain a yank.

It’s something that’s done just for fun,
To take life less seriously.
It may be corny as a pun,
Or cause laughs deliriously.

Derived from a sense of humor,
A jest is supposed to amuse,
Yet ominous as a tumor,
When twisted around to abuse.

A jester is a clown at heart,
Spreading fun, laughter and good cheer,
But he plies a dangerous art
That can earn a kick in the rear.

Poking fun that’s taken in jest
Is perfectly all right, you see,
But when used as barbs, it seems best
That you don’t hurl any at me.

When I was a young girl,
Secret loves were exciting,
I loved a teacher and a cousin,
And kept them deep in my heart.

I'd walk around on clouds,
Smiling to myself,
Nobody knew of my passion,
No one would ever guess.

Now that I am old,
And days are passing quickly,
I shout out loud my feelings,
Before it is too late.

If love is in your heart,
Don't keep it hidden away,
Say the words you want to say,
Time is running out.
