Our holidays come once a year,
and let me make it very clear,
they cause a bit of consternation
with their celebration.

When we indulge, a growing bulge
is seen about our midriff,
and when we look at bathroom scale
we look for cliff
to jump off of.

So with each New Year's day and toast,
down all the way to momma's roast,
we celebrate with our imbibes,
and turkey, ham, and vibes of song
that helps prolong the feast
until the Yuletide days are gone,
and our big belly's old pollution
has given way to
one more
well-meant
new year's resolution!
