I woke up early and got dressed and was just sitting down having my regular cup of chamomile tea with toast and jelly when I heard a noise by the front door, and there he was! He had shown up unexpectedly. He walked into my kitchen and said, "Good morning Betty."

There was this tall handsome man I had just met a month ago, at a dinner I had attended with a friend. He had said his name was Dennis, and I was immediately attracted to him. I had given him my address so he could come and see me.

I was shocked when he walked into my kitchen. I hadn't remembered leaving my front door unlocked.

He sat down and apologized for having walked into the house without permission.

I was upset that he had, but was tickled to see him in my kitchen! I asked him if he wanted some coffee or tea. He sat down at my table and we chatted.

We both knew some of the same people who had been at the dinner. When he left a couple of hours later, I was sorry to see him go. He had some business to take care of, he said, and asked if he could pick me up later that evening for dinner.

I was thrilled and said "Yes, I would like that very much, Dennis."

He gave me a soft kiss on my cheek and said, "See you later".

When he left my heart was pounding and I wondered what I would wear, and where we have our dinner. I even looked over the paper to see what movies were playing.

I was all happy and excited, and called and made an appointment to get my hair done. I had my nails done, too, and all the while I was having them done, I was thinking about going out on my first date with Dennis.

Well, I went home, took my bath, and picked out some dressy clothes to wear. Later, Dennis rang the bell and when I went to answer, he handed me a lovely corsage of tiny pink roses that were tied with a white ribbon.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw how handsome Dennis looked. He took my hand and said, "Betty, you look lovely."

We headed out the door and I sat in his sleek, black Nisson. We drove off and headed for the movie. I don't remember the name of the movie or who was in it. After the movie, I didn't care where we went to eat, or what I ate. All I cared about was that Dennis had asked me out and I was happy.
