If I could color the wind,
It would show as beings like you and me,
Marching across the world like the Cavalry,
Breaking ranks in groups of twenty or three,
Some making circles and dancing 'Ring-Around-The-Rosie',
Others teasing the leaves and,
Chucking the chins of gnarled trunks, Fluttering pieces of our lives and loves, And of girls and boys. Raising a red kite or windmill toys, Garden chimes tinkling symphonically, And capricious winds composing ever-changing melodies, With only their breaths. Then with mischievous puffy smiles, Gather again and leave blusterily, Having rearranged the stillness of the world, If I could but color the wind.
