After finishing Fahrenheit 451, we were assigned a paper on three books that we would save, if we had to make a decision...

A Tough Decision
What would you do if you could only save three pieces of written material, and all others would be destroyed?  What would the three pieces be?   Why would people benefit from your three choices?  It is a difficult decision, which would require a great deal of contemplating.  If I could pick three pieces of written material to be saved, I would pick the Bible, a journal full of all of my songs and poems that I have ever written, and an empty journal so I may continue to write.
The first and most important book I would save is the Bible.  I strongly feel that everyone should read and know about this book.  The Bible is a book with 66 books within it, each written by a different person, though some people wrote more than one book.  The Bible starts with how the Earth was created, and ends with how the world will end when Jesus returns.  All throughout the 66 books are stories like, Noah and his ark, the Ten Commandments, and the most important and well-known story, the story of Jesus’ birth, and his life.  The Bible has many encouraging words, which help me get through tough times.  I feel that everyone should have the comfort that I have from God, and His word.  In a nutshell, among all of these many stories, the Bible is God’s word telling humans how to live.  I strongly feel that this book should be passed on from generation to generation so that everyone can still read about God and His promises.
I write all the time.  I write about my day-to-day experiences through songs, or just simply writing.  Since I write so many songs and poems, I have a journal full of them.  This would be the second piece of written material that I would save.  This journal is important to me because I wrote about trials, learning experiences, happy times that I went through, and many more experiences in my life.  My songs and poems could help people, I feel, because they could read about my experiences, and possibly relate to them.  They could help them get through possible trials that they might be facing.
As I mentioned before, as a way to get my feelings out, I write.  Writing helps me get through hard times, and possibly see other people’s point of view. It also helps me to think of a way to handle a situation rationally, if the case calls for that.  Therefore, my third writing material that I would save is an empty journal, so that I could continue to write as certain situations arise.
After much thought, I decided that the Bible, my journal with my songs and poems in it, and an empty journal would be my three selections to salvage if the problem arose that I would have to choose.  I value all of these three objects very much, which is why I chose them.  I feel that the Bible encourages me, my journal could encourage others, and an empty journal could help me lift my spirits, if needed, by getting my feelings out.  Therefore, I feel that these three pieces of written material should be passed on through future generations.
