News for November 2

The Jets are currently 4-4, and are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Browns, 20-13. Tim Dwight returned 4 punts during the game, with a long of 18.

The Jets have a bye this weekend, and continue action next week when they travel to Foxboro, MA to take on the New England Patriots, Dwight's former team.

News for October 19

The New York Jets are currently 3-3. Tim Dwight missed the first two games with a quadricep injury, but returned to action in time for the game at Buffalo.

So far this season, Dwight has caught 7 passes for 45 yards, rushed 1 time for 0 yards, and has returned 5 punts for 37 yards.

The Jets host the Detroit Lions this weekend.

News for September 10

Tim Dwight (right quadricep) has been deactivated for today's game against the Tennesee Titans. He had practiced all week in hopes of playing, but was ruled out before the game.

(Head Coach Eric) Mangini said WR/PR Tim Dwight (leg) will not play against Philadelphia, but the coach said the injury is not so serious that Dwight would be in danger of being put on injured reserve. Mangini would not speculate as to whether Dwight will be ready for the Sept. 10 season opener at Tennessee.

Veteran WR Tim Dwight has been seeing plenty of first-string time lately. At 5-foot-8, he doesn't present as big a target as 6-2 Justin McCareins, who was presumed to be the No. 2 receiver behind Laveranues Coles. But the 31-year-old Dwight still has good speed and could fill the role that Wayne Chrebet once did as a possession receiver.

ESPN.com is reporting that Dwight inked a 4-year, $4.2 million deal that includes a $750,000 signing bonus.

Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports free agent WR Tim Dwight (Patriots) has agreed to a four-year deal with the New York Jets. The deal includes a $750,000 signing bonus.

Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Steelers have talked to Tim Dwight's agent about making a visit next week.

"We've talked about it; it will happen but there's nothing definite yet," agent Jack Becht said of Dwight visiting the Steelers.

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports free agent WR Tim Dwight (Patriots) is planning to visit the Seattle Seahawks.
