I‘ve never been in a worse jam in my life and I’m trying to drink my way out of it. It isn’t working.

You’ve been in a much worse jam. You couldn’t drink your way out of that one.

So true, so truly tragically true.

That one hurt.

Hurt! No one could ever guess.

So that one’s over?

Nope. Never will be.

OK. But life goes on.

Unfortunately.

That was then, this is now. What about now?

It’s a jam. Many facets. Few answers.

What are you going to do?

You tell me.

Remember when you paraphrased, 'young men talk of the future, old men talk of the past'?

What does that have to do with anything?

It has to do with a lot of things. Are you an old man?

No. Never will be.

OK, then talk, think of the future. There is one until there is none.

The future: Let me get this straight in my head. There is one ‘till there is none.

True.

There is one ‘till there is none.

You’ve said it all.

The past?

It’s gone.
