Fender Trim Mod:
Just did this to clean up the back end a bit.  I think evenutaly I will end up getting some of the plate light screws and move the plate up even more and completely get rid of the stock plate light.  Maybe even mount the plate on a spring mount so it could be possitioned over the seat lock.  Here are the pics
Fan Activation Switch Mod:
This is for those of you who end up in traffic on your strom on a hot day.  Personally I don't like my bike to heat up quite as much as the 210deg fan trigger lets it so here is how I fixed that problem.
I used a Ski Doo Kill switch (part number 145x) so I could mount the fan on/off switch to the bars.  A switch could also be mounted in the plastic fering some where.  But this Ski Doo switch is very nice (only 16 bucks) comes with plenty of wire and the nifty black wire tube to blend in with the rest of the wires.

First mount the switch to the bars.  I used a black zip tie and some RTV glue on the back of the button switch.  The switch has a round contour to the back so it mates nicely with the bars.  Then you remove the right side fering.  Route the wire down the handlebars with the other bar wire tubes and down to the  thermostat.  Unplug the thermostat plug.  Carefully strip the wires on the thermostat wires 2 inches from the plug.  Solder the 2 wires from the switch to (1 to each striped wire).  Tape up the wires (I also coat my wires with 3M vinyl glue sealant).  Plug the thermostat plug back into the thermostat and replace your fering.  Now you can activate your radiator cooling fan anytime things get a little to hot.
Horn Mod:
This is how I mounted my type F 'FIAMM' horn to my V-strom.   Basicly I drilled a small 1/4 hole in the metal plate/support for the front gages.  Mounted the horn bracket to that and spliced into the stock horn wiring behind the radiator (course I had to disconnect the stock horn to do the splicing) but pluged it back in afterwords.

Peter from the list also has a good mounting method hear http://www.peregrineconcept.com/Peter/VStrom/HornInstall/VStromHornInstall.htm

And yes I can stunn small animals although I am considering adding another to the other side of the fering..heehe

Update:  I have now installed a second Fiamm horn and wired in a relay to power them rather then using the horn button & circuit to power them.  I used a high amp fog light relay from autozone connected to the leads spliced in with the stock horn to  provide power to the 2 new horns.  Fused positive lead runs back to the battery terminal as well.
