Synopsis
Neil Simon's comic concoction RUMORS is based on a dinner party where several affluent couples gather at the posh suburban residence of Charlie and Myra Brock to celebrate the tenth wedding anniversary of their hosts.
When they get there, they discover that there are no servants, the hostess is gone, and the host has shot himself through the earlobe. As the guests arrive, each couple tries to keep each new arrival from finding out about Charley’s possible suicide attempt. The confusion is not helped by the plethora of rumors about Charley, Myra and most of the guests.
You are pitched headlong into high-voltage hilarity as the friends try frantically to protect their host (who is deputy mayor of New York), and themselves, by then hiding the evening’s events from the outside world.
