Warrior Shield Award

 The Warrior Soul Award
Updated January 6, 2001

The Warrior Shield Award is intended to recognize those websites which are a positive representation of men, maleness and masculinity.  The key is that the site must be interesting and above all, build-up men but not at the expense of women.  Negative gender bias or blatant sexism in the presentation eliminates a page from consideration.

Here are some of the key characteristics I look for when reviewing a site:

· does the page present a positive image of men?
· does it promote brotherhood?
· does it present information of benefit to men?
· does it encourage thoughtful reflection about the image of men in contemporary society?
· are there any negative concepts about women?  (unacceptable)
· is it a good, basic design concept?
· is it attractive to the eye?
· are the colors, backgrounds, graphics or icons original or very familiar?
· do the links work?
· are the links "original" or are they the same links you find on other pages?
· if things are animated, is there a reason for it?
· does it load relatively quickly?
· for those people who have text only browsers or visual handicaps, has any provision been made?

Once you have submitted your site for consideration, it may take some time before you get the final word.  I will try to acknowledge your submission as quickly as possible, but the review may take some time.  Please be patient.

Thank you!
