Waterwave, who is not mentioned in any Redwall books, is a male otter who is a distant decendent of Rab Streambattle. He was born in Southsward. During a long drought in Southsward he decided to go in search of a new fresh water source, but his family decided to stay at home in Southsward. He traveled northeast, fighting off vermin along the way, until he reached the Big Inland Lake. Once at the shore, he built a boat (which is not one of his great talents, but it managed to stay afloat), and he went to the island inside the lake. After about a season, when he had explored most of the island and the lake, he set off along the South Stream looking for new adventures. He eventually decided to live in peaceful Mossflower, but sometimes sets off in search of adventure.
