X[ONE]
Reviewed By: Kite

Stroy Synopsis (off back of case)- Two groups of supernaturally powered warriors begins a prophetic battle to shape the future- a clash that will rock the foundations of the planet! The Dragons of Earth swear to purge humanity from the world, while the Dragons of Heaven are the last hope of all mankind. One young man holds the key to Earth's destiny.

Story- The story to 'X' is very invigorating. It has so many twists and turns it's like a roller coaster. Sure, there's a lot of anime with the clichè plot involving the end of the world, but this one is truly different. It's made by CLAMP, so what more could you expect? I give Story a 9/10.

Character Designs- The character designs are gorgeous. As I said, what more could you expect from CLAMP? None of the characters or off-kilter, and there are no jagged edges once so ever. The colors are nice and crisp, and the emotions pertrayed by each character is excellent. I give character desgisn a 10/10. It's all i can say.

Sound- The sound suffers. Nothing wrong with the background noises and voices and all, but the problem lies with it's sound ratio- Dolby Digital 2.0 sound, instead of 5.1. So it sounds like the sound is really muffled. You have to turn the TV way up in order to hear what everyone's saying. I give sound a 6/10. The sound sucks, why not give it 5.1 sound!?

Music- *falls over* The music, it's gorgeous. I especially like the opening theme, in which I downloaded off the net and burned onto a CD to listen to. I think Pioneer did a good job with keeping the music intact from the original. The ending theme is prettyful too. I give music 9/10.... they dun have the full version of "eX Dream," the shows opening theme. ;_;

Voice Overs- The voice actors, they're incredible to say the least. Pioneer tried very hard to match the english voices with the Japanese voices. Some of the voices do seem a bit flat, but none the less, they're well done. 8/10

Extras- The extras suck.... all they have is some trailers for other anime, like Hellsing and VanDread and such. I only watch it to get an idea of what anime I might want to buy. =\ But, there is a nifty thing that comes with the DVD. The DVD cover is reversable. You can change it from the American one to the original Japanese cover. And, the first volume comes with a nice little character guide that helps you along the story. It's nice to have since the story of X can get a bit confusing. Also, take note that the OVA special 'Episode Zero: An Omen,' is the first thing to play if you dun use the episode select. This can REALLY confuse you and give off many important plot points in the series, so, if you dun want to ruin some plot points, just use the scene select thingy to skip that episode. IT's nice to watch AFTER you have watched the full 26 episode series. I give extras a 4/10..... Pioneer needs to stop being stingy with the disc extras. -_-

Other- There is a VERY low episode count. While this disc contained episode 0-3, 4 episodes, all others will contain only 3 episodes. -_- Why not 4? It'd make it better, but, whatever. Episode count for this disc is 8/10. Any other disc I rate for this series will get a 3/10. -_-

Overall: I really enjoy this show, and I hope to get the entire collection. And, one interesting note, Subaru, Hakuto, Seichiro, and Nataku all make an appearance as important characters in this series. Why do I note this? Because they are all originally introduced in CLAMP's earlier production "Tokyo Babylon." So it's almost like a lil' cross over. I give an over all score of 8/10. Wish those stupid little flaws could be fixed.... then this disc would be PERFECT!

Thing to Watch Out For: This series is meant for Teenagers, as there are some violent scenes. Not overly gory, but, let's say, a woman gives birth to a special sword *dun ask* and explodes.... resulting in blood splattering and running down the walls of an emergency room.=\ There's also a bit of bad language, but nothing too offensive. Enjoy!
