I didn't really care for the first two movies in this trilogy but figured I'd give this one a shot since some of the stuff from the trailer was funny and because Jeremy Piven was in it. I left the theater completely amused.

People start dying seven days after seeing a mysterious tape, crop circles are appearing around an ex=priest's farm and aliens are invading Earth! Cindy is now a reporter and she must find out the secret of the tape to save herself and the life of her nephew, if he doesn't die from some other accident along the way. The plot is lame butt hat's expected of a parody. The movie captures The Ring and Signs really well and doesn't ride of the script word for word like the first two movies did with Scream and The Haunting.

Missing from this one are the Wayans Brothers but that isn't a lose. Anna Faris returns as Cindy and is so-so but she's always so-so in her roles so I wasn't expecting much. Jeremy Piven gives a whole hearted performance but isn't given any funny material except the parody of "Bruce Almighty". Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy steal all of the guest appearances by delivering one of the funniest scenes in the entire movie. Rest of the acting is decent, not award winning, but it works.

The script for this one is rather good actually. The movie doesn't parody as many movies as the others and the parodies are actually good. They handled mixing The Ring and Signs together really well. The directing is okay, a few rough spots here and there but nothing too bad.

My biggest worry about the movie was it's PG13 rating but it doesn't feel like anything was taken away from the movie and the fewer over the top sex jokes, the better. Sadly, Miramax has already started production on Scary Movie 4 and I feel that it's just going to kill this series. Scary Movie 3 is actually a decent movie and if you have a hour and a half to waste check it out but don't expect the best film ever because in the end it's just a parody.
