Freddy vs. Jason as been rumored for ten years. The project came down to one final straw. If Jason X made enough money they would go ahead with the one movie horror movie fans have been waiting for. Well, Jason X did good for a Friday The 13th movie and now we have Freddy vs. Jason.

Freddy is in hell, literaly. The kids of Elm Street aren't dreaming and have forgotten all about Freddy, so now he's powerless. But Freddy has a plan, he visits Jason in his dreams and ends up resurrecting him so he can make the kids on Elm Street belive in him once again. The problem is, Jason is very kill happy and is taking all of the credit. Now Freddy wants revenge but will Jason let Freddy take all the glory? The plot is suprisingly interesting and the fact that there is an actually story is a plus. I liked the story, even if it does have a few cliches.

The cast is a mixed bag of sorts. On one hand we have Monica Keena, known for playing Abby on Dawson's Creek, playing our virgin hero. She's good in the role, but she is unconvincing during a few scenes. We also get to see Kelly Rowlan'ds big screen debut, best known for singing in the group "Destiny's Child". She delivers her lines well and truely surprised me. As for Freddy and Jason? Well, Robert Englund returns as Freddy and he plays the role perfectly still. Sadly, Kane Hodger was skipped for this Jason project and replaced with Ken Kirzinger, who is NOT Jason. He just didn't feel like Jason, which is a shame really. Over all I was happy with the cast choice.

Ronny Yu, who also directed Bride Of Chucky, directs this film and while he signed onto the movie without ever seeing a movie in either of the series, he captures the spirit of the series perfectly. We get the young naked girls, the sex, the violence and the drug use. Those are things expected of in a Jason or Freddy movie. One problem I had with the deatsh was the over use of blood, it sure does spray about. Oh and let me say the rave is a great scene all around. The special effects are decent, some of the dead bodies look fake but over all it was nicely done. The script isn't too bad either. Kelly Rowland's character, Kia, has the best line in the movie and she delivers it very well.

Freddy vs Jason is any horror fans wet dream. You get two of the baddest bad guys around and they duke it out. The big fight is very entertaining and it's done well, leaving you guessing just who will win. Oh and I'll tell you guys now, the "Place your bets" line from the trailer is not found at all in this movie. One of the few movies this summer I can honestly say I will return to the theater and see again.
