28 Days Later is the latest horror movie to hit North America, it hit the UK sometime last year and is now on video there. While 28 Days Later is labeled as a zombie movie, it is no such thing. It's a deep and interesting look into what a person can be made to do in drastic times.

When a group of activists let out a chimp that has been infected with "Rage", it infects the blood and makes anyone crazy if infected saliva or blood touchs them. 28 Days Later, Jim wakes up from a coma and finds that no one is around. He soon finds out about what happened to everyone and teams up with some people to try and find a cure. The plot isn't as deep as I was hoping for but it's still rather good.

I have no clue who any of these actors are but they give some very good performances for a movie like this. At first I didn't really like Cillian Murphy as Jim but he grew on me. Naomie Harris, who plays Selena, does a great job and has some of the better scenes near the end of the movie. Rest of the cast is good as well.

28 Days Later is directed by Danny Boyle, who also directed Trainspotting, a popular film in the UK that I'v never seen. He does a good job using a digital camera, it gives the film a darker and more gritty look that really fits. There are some really good shots later in the movie and the large farm house has some of the best camera work I've ever seen, mixed with the music, the final act of the movie is just great. The script is good enough, the characters seem real and I really did enjoy all of the movie.

There is one thing I didn't like about 28 Dys Later and that's the fact that two versions of the film was released in theaters. There is the original version of the movie, which I saw and then there's the other version with a different ending. This makes it confusing since you don't really know which version you've seen and if you can see the other version. This is one of the best horror movies this year and is well worth paying to see.
