Interested in learning more about growing magnificent, colorful dahlias?
The Washington State Dahlia Society offers a variety of activities designed to help even the novice gardener achieve success.
Meetings are usually held the third Monday of each month at 7:30 at the
Fircrest Community Center.
Visitors are always welcome - so drop by and get acquainted! It's a great way to meet other dahlia enthusiasts and learn more about growing dahlias, storing tubers, where to get the really good varieties, show competition, and more!
Our members are a knowledgeable, enthusiastic group and are always happy to answer questions ranging from simple to advanced cultivation techniques.
Our monthly meetings feature informative presentations by experienced growers covering all aspects of growing exhibition quality dahlias.

Upcoming Events
August 25 - South Sound, Kitsap and Washington State Dahlia Societies co-sponsor a picnic at the Trial Garden at Pt. Defiance Park. Picnic lovers can meet about 6:00 or whenever you can get there. Bring your own dinner and enjoy the beauty of the Trial Garden and our wonderful weather. Art has said he will furnish drinks. Consider our new bench under the tree and ask someone to move over to make room for you.
September 2 - The Connells will host anyone to come and check out our Dahlia garden. (any time in the evening) We may have some dahlias blooming by then!
September 9 - The Schroeders will host one and all to inspect their Dahlia garden. This will be followed by a potluck dinner. Bob will furnish the meat and man the BBQ while the rest of us will bring salads and other good things to eat. (6:00 pm or when you can get there)
September 16 - The Waltons will open their garden for viewing about 6:00. Enjoy the spectacular view of the sound and bridge as well as their award-winning dahlias
Anyone desiring a mentor please let us know so we can find one of our members to help you. We can answer questions and just give general encouragement
