Overview of the
Western Australian Singapore Business Council
The Western
Australian Singapore Business Council was formed to replace the Temasek Club.
The new Council was elected in 1999 under the leadership of Mrs Cecilia Wee and
strongly supported by former Temasek President Willie Rasiah and Council
members.
WASBC
enjoys the support of the WA Government, the Singapore Government, the
International Business Council of Western Australia and the various WA Chambers
of Commerce.
The
executive committee of the Western Australian Singapore Business Council is
currently headed by Mrs Cecilia Wee as the Hon. President and Willie Rasiah as
the Hon. Vice President. There are also a number of committee members with
specific portfolios within the WASBC to coordinate the various events.
We have numerous networking meetings and social events organised throughout the
year with guest speakers from the various industries sharing their insight,
viewpoints and experiences. These events represent opportunities for our members
to network and establish business relationships with one another.
Our
affiliations with the Western Australian and Singapore government, key
industries, other business councils and ethnic associations allow
our members to establish business contacts outside the WASBC.
The Western Australian Singapore Business Council is open to new and keen members who can contribute to
the overall strength and business dynamics of what the WASBC represents.
The
membership of the WASBC is expanding and comprises of both Corporate and
Ordinary Members and will in the near future incorporate Honorary Life
members, Honorary members and Affiliate members.
