Mr. Warren: Department of Language Arts
This page is designed to keep you informed on the daily activities in my classroom.  I will try to keep it updated and current each day or as time allows.  On the page will be news, student accomplishments, homework information and important dates.  One of the most useful tools that parents and students have used in the past few years is Email.  If you have any questions about a grade or an assignment, please Email me as soon as possible.  I check it daily and will respond immediately.

Outside Reading
All students are expected to read 500 pages of outside/independent material each semester at King High School.  In my class the students will read some novels that are assigned by the teacher as well as be able to choose their own.  Students will need to "active read"  their novel.  Active Reading is note taking in the book. The students must own the novel that they are reading.  For your child  to active read the outside book, they have to buy it, but it is worth 100 points if it's completely active read.  After the book is complete the students will have a formal essay to write as well as have a test to check comprehension.
