Thanks for thinking about Marge.
She passed away Saturday, 2 April.
She had the cerebral hemmorage on Thursday morning.
They removed the life support on Friday afternoon, and at 11:30 pm, Saturday, her body gave-up what her spirit had left on Thursday.
It was traumatic for Vanessa. She was at her grandmother's bedside throughout the whole time, including the moment of death.
For me, it was/is tougher than I would have predicted.
Marge and I had a friendship that goes back 27 years... beginning in the years before I married Candy (Vanessa's mother), and continuing with nearly weekly breakfasts/lunches/dinners or cocktails and long conversations, till now.
Since I moved away from NJ, 30+ years ago, Marge filled the adult part of my life as a peer and parent figure.
I am so proud of Vanessa. She weathered this - through the tears - as a strong woman. She, knowing the closeness I had with Marge, took it upon herself to comfort me. Since I was no longer a member of the immediate family, I was not part of the vigil, so Vanessa kept me up to date as the event progressed.
Marge, you will forever be in my prayers. I miss you terribly! |
