In the short time I have been on this planet, I have come to realize that life is what you make it and the more you put into life the more you will get out of it.

My History

I started life in England. My Mum and Dad both came from Birmingham in the midlands. I am one of seven:  five boys and two girls.  I was born in 1959 in the town of Chelmsford but grew up in Maldon in Essex.  At about the age of 5 we moved to East London.  When I was about nine, my Dad passed away.  By the time I was 12, I was put into the care of the local council and sent to live in Wiltshire (where I spent the next 5 years and two more in halfway houses awaiting release).

Next I will go into the mad world of Eddie :-)

Some may come to think of me as a little on the... well, lets say: unusal side :-)

I now live in the U.S.A. with a wonderful lady (who is younger than me... hee hee hee).  We met thanks to the wonder of the internet. At the time we met I was still living in London and working as a joiners' improver for a great little firm called Karters Joinery, based in Walthamstow, East London.  We made and fitted box sash windows.  I was also living (if you can call it that) with a woman I met when I was just 20 years old, and to this day I don't know why I stayed with her.  She was a nightmare to live with and it was the worst 22 years of my life.  Now that I live with the love of my life, I can start to rebuild what's left of it.  I've had many hobbies.  As a teenager I was into Motor Bikes... had about 13 all together (not all at once). Most of my bikes were Hondas.  At the time I was hanging about with  local bikers and what came with that was the drugs.  Then I thought I was Mr. Cool, as in..."yeah I got a Bike and smoke weed." Looking back, I wasn't cool at all...just a little pratt thinking he was Mr. all grown up, but it's all part of growing up.  I just wish I had been able to see what I was doing to myself at the time.

I pulled myself together in the end, (some kids don't have that sort of luck).  So far I have lost 3 good friends to drink and drugs and the sad thing is they were all around the age of 20 when they died.  I think that's why I gave up the bikes and fast life (although if you had seen us you wouldn't say we were fast at all mainly just slow and stoned all the time).

One thing I have learnt from where I have been is: DON'T shout at your kids when they make mistakes.  Try to get them to see what drink and drugs are doing to them, and show them that it does happen to people like them.  Kids think it will never happen to them, take them onto a web site that shows them what can become of them.  I have included a couple of links to start you off, if you find a web site that you think may be useful to parents that have kids with drug problems send me the link and I will post it on here.
