*UPDATE: sept 12, 2005--> Guys! for this week, we will follow the september 08 roles. why? because of the special event last thursday, we weren't able to perform our duties, kasi some had to sing sa choir, etc...so we'll follow the sept 08 for the mass on sept 15, then ung 15 carried on sa sunod na week nmn...blah blah... (^_^) un lang! :D malapit na mag-end ung sem, so sna makapunta na kayong lahat sa mga mass slots, and sa PS and sa committee meetings! (^_^) ACMG is a lot of fun--that is if you would fully commit yourself to the formation process. (^_^) good night!
p.s. next time ko na icocorrect ung mga maling spelling/ kulang na stuff na nilagay ko... wlang time now eh--i'm studying chemistry. :D

1) How come our EO is not included in the list of roles?
--> mainly because there are a lot of us, and we're mostly made of new members, so i would like the new members to do the serving more so that they will learn! :) and experience the magic that the mass has to offer...coz you get to experience something different when you're serving in the mass--and i've been exposed to that feeling of a certain tinge of happiness, and i would like other people to experience it--especially the new members! :) hahahaha
--NOW ON TO THE REAL FAQ--
*NOTE: this is just the roles in a nutshell--if you would like to know how to do your job, each thursday arrive at around 4:30pm, and your EO will be there to help you..
prepare/clean-up: as what its name suggests, this involves preparing/clearing of the utilities needed in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
music: as you know, there is no choir in our mass slot--however, music plays an important role in a Eucharistic celebration, because just like what they say: when you sing, it's like praying twice! (or something along those lines)...music helps the people get more INTO the mass...so the job of the music person is to 1) play music while the mass hasn't started yet 2) fade or turn off the music when the mass will start already 3) turn on the music for the communion *NOTE: it's better to have instrumental music--although i often break that rule also. hahaha :) that's because i love voicing...and i don't know if you notice, but there are more CDs in there with songs, rather than instrumental alone...so bahala nlng kayo. :) it's okay actually, because before, MARIAN E and I were preparing for a mass, and we played Bukas Palad...and also with Jaymee..so i guess that's okay...
Commentator/ Announcements: the commentator's job is to guide the public w/ the responses, and the like. i believe that a commentator is an indispensable part of a celebration of the Eucharist--but in times when we have a lack in members, this role is ommitted...but anyway, the commentator can help guide the congregation through the guide found in the Magnificat. Announcements--those are announcements, which will be announced depending on when the priests wants it to--that is, you should inform them first. :)
First Reading: read the First Reading. :) yes... when reading, read those in small font first (the ones below, A Reading from a _____________) then, after reading that caption, read "A Reading from ________________"...read with feelings please... and pause before saying: "This is the Word of the Lord"
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms are actually sung...but anyway. :) whoever has this role has to read the Responsorial Psalm which is found right after the First Reading--pretty obvious description noh? For the Psalm-person, there are just a FEW things to remember: WHEN THERE IS NO COMMENTATOR; YOU'LL BE THE ONE TO SAY: PLEASE RISE AND HONOR THE GOSPEL. and the other thing to remember, READ THE ALLELUIA... :)
Server: hmm...this requires more than this page...so whoever does this role--mainly your purpose is to assist the priest. :) steps in doing, would be explained before mass starts. :)
Baskets: your job is during the offertory. :) coordinate with your partner on where you would collect... mainly, just walk-up to the middle (in front of altar), bow, and then get your baskets, then go to where you're suppose to collect. :) pretty easy job! :) in high school, this was the first step in our role hierarchy...
2nd Server/Bell: in our high school's ACMG-type organization, we call this person the beller--or in more formal terms, the second acolyte. :) as you would have probably noticed, in masses there are certain parts where we have to ring the bell. these parts are: "Let your spirit *priest does this covering-thingy with the chalice"--> ring ring!; "Do this in memory of Me. *Priest raises the body of Christ"-->ring ring ring ring *until he puts it down; "Do this in memory of Me. *Priest raises the blood of Christ"-->ring ring ring ring *until he puts it down; Before communion, when both Priest and Eucharistic Minister are getting ready to go down to give communion (as in they're done drinking the blood what)--> RING! (only one!) :)
