About this Site
This site started as a fun little diversion and grew, in less than a week, into a huge, whacky,  burdensome monster of a project.  The present version is the product of five revisions...
... and Lo, we are not satisfied!
As of present writing, (
04/28/2005) we are in the middle of 'redesign' - and there we will stay until we actually get the time to be in the middle of 'recreate'.   New content and photos are in development - and will be presented in a better, happier, ritzier format... someday... some way.   For now, please look at the pictures again and pretend they're new!

             Site News 2005

04/27  After nearly an eight month hiatus in which we did
pretty much everything except hold meetings, run
public outings, or work on our site, we're BACK!
Not back like we used to be - running trips
every
weekend - but back in the sense that we will be
running public trips again beginning... well.... now.

Although we're a busy bunch of gals...  and alot has
changed at Wander Women Mountaineering in the
past few  months...  and we're scrambling to ketch up           with all the new-fangled hardware and software and
rules and  services...  and scheduling is crazy-hard
when you're out as much as we are and then still
gotta schlepp to work on Monday... we are still
          completely devoted to
YOU, our adoring public.   ;)

... We're all in high gear now - and so organized
we'd make the Mafia look sloppy!   We're planning
on unveiling our new "ueber-site" some time this
year (although we're not making any promises) and
we're pretty sure that it'll get us on Oprah... then
you could see us on TV!    :O

08/06  Revised schedule on
Upcoming Outings
We do welcome any comments, criticism, contributions, cajoling, corrections or cussing concerning our content (well, maybe not so much the cussing).  Seriously, though, please feel free to contact us about anything we made a booboo on or maybe didn't do quite right.  Let us know, too, if we did a cool job - our egos love a good stroke every once in a while...   :)
Unless otherwise noted, all pictures are taken by, edited by, the sole property of,  wholly copyrighted to (etc. etc. blah blah blah) Wander Women Mountaineering Club - and if ya try n take credit for 'em, we'll be pretty pissed off... not that there's anything here that anyone would want to take credit for... but, we digress.    All of the 'otherwise noted' photos are taken by, edited by, the sole property of, and wholly copyrighted to the party or parties noted in the caption - and if ya try n take credit for 'em, they'll be really pissed off.  Trust us, it's not what you want.

All text, with the exception of the quotes taken from "The Quotable Climber" and a few other miscellaneous sources is developed exclusively by - and is the sole property of Wander Women Mountaineering Club and really ought not be reproduced by someone else for profit or sale... or undue credit.  This sort of thing makes us mad.

We have often noted that there are huge and complex disclaimers on other mountaineering-related sites about climbing being dangerous and such-and-so...  We wouldn't even know how to begin writing a disclaimer so we're just gonna just say this:   Any form of mountaineering is dangerous and has an unlimited number of potential risks.  Possibilities range from from 'breaking a nail' - to sustaining severe physical injuries or, at worst, not coming back alive.  Equipment can fail, weather can turn brutal, accidents can and do happen.  Falling rocks, dehydration, heatstroke, hypothermia, and a myriad of other potential hazards can make for a not-so-nice ending to the trip report.  Every wilderness environment has its own unique challenges and requirements.  We urge everyone to get well informed, be well prepared, and always put safety first!
Wander Women would like to thank:

The Academy.   :)

Our Parents

Alex Krawarik
had it not been for Alex, we wouldn't have spent all our money on gear - and we'd be sitting comfortably at home watching TV instead of praying that bolts hold while we rappel

Elizabeth Franco
(
who helped so much, we made her President!)

Angel
- for getting us the domain - and for bailing us out of every tech problem... ever

Our Spouses/Partners, Families, Friends, Neighbors, Pets, Etc.
- for listening tirelessly to our stories and ideas,  being supportive of our crazy antics, understanding our constant requirements for time away, tolerating our fits of gear lust, and providing some of the most treasured pictures on this site.
