b-email-reasons
Reasons you want a web-based
email address like
yahoo.com.
(in addition to
or instead of your current email address)
1) It’s permanent. The email address will belong to you -
permanently. Since a web-based email address
is not supplied by an ISP, it won’t change if/when you change your ISP.
2) Attachments are
automatically scanned for viruses with the latest updated technology.
3) Viruses
in email notes will not get into your computer since the notes are kept on the supplier’s
(yahoo’s) computer - not yours.
4) Doing business
on the Internet usually requires that you provide an email address. With an alternate email address, you can
provide the required email address needed for ordering or registering on-line while you keep your regular email address private.
5) Web-based email
can
be accessed anywhere in the world from
any Internet terminal. Though some non
web-based email accounts provide universal local access, many do not. With web-based email, you are always assured
of a means of contact worldwide.
6) Yahoo provides unlimited
permanent on-line memory for you to
store and keep your yahoo email and attached files and photos. So the email you receive at a yahoo address,
that you yourself do not delete, will remain available to you indefinitely. This means that you can send email and
attached files to yourself at your yahoo address that will be stored for you
and always available to you from any Internet terminal in the world. Examples of information you might want to
store on your yahoo on-line memory include address lists, phone numbers, credit
card numbers, passport numbers or even a photocopy of your passport.
7) And it’s FREE – but you must access it at least
once every three months or it will be gone.
Note: Other free web-based
email is available from AOL at aol.com and aim.com, Microsoft at hotmail.com,
Google at gmail.com, and Yahoo at ymail.com and rocketmail.com as well as from
other service providers.
