Hello and welcome to my Playstation demos collection. Some people collect stamps or coins, but I have been collecting Playstation demo discs since 1996. In December 1995, I purchased a Playstation and when I heard that a magazine with a disc of playable demos was going to be released, I was eager to check it out. I purchased the first ever Official Playstation Magazine in March 1996 and was immediately impressed with the playable demos and rolling videos. Instead of trying out new games in stores, it was possible to try them in the comfort of home. Since then I have been collecting as many demo discs as I have found. The demo discs have been great for not only playing up-coming games, but also getting a taste of some other gaming genres that I might never have otherwise played (Final Fantasy being the best example). There are some people who may think that demo discs are a waste of time and money, but I believe that if they save you from one bad game purchase, then you are still out in front. I collected Playstation demo discs up until I purchased the PS2 in November 2000, and have been an avid collector of PS2 discs since then. All up I have hundreds of demos, both playable and video/rolling demos, with games ranging from classics to some absolute shockers. I also have some international discs (US, Japanese, French) but have not listed these here as they are more curiosities to the collection.
