Wake Ooloo

The Wake Ooloo formed in 1992 after the Feelies split up: both
Glenn Mercer (guitars and vocals) and Dave Weckerman (drums and vocals),
were actually former members of that group.

The line up includes also, Russell Gambino on the keybords
and Troy Meiss on bass, later replaced by John Dean.

Even if Glenn is the main writer of the Wake Ooloo songs, their
music is not simply another version of the Feelies sound.
It goes in the same direction, and while fans of the Feelies may feel
the occasional familiar mood, the band has a strong personality of its own.

It's an evolution that can be heard through the three records the Wake Ooloo have done. And despite the presence of just one guitarist, the Wake Ooloo still have one of the best guitar sounds you can find on the rock scene.
