Intellectual- The maturation of mental processes such as learning, imagination, memory and perception (Grimes, 2004). *Although crying may tedious at times, it is important to know that crying is a babies only means of communication. *Sleep is crucial for the intellectual development of a child. *Play is great for a childs intellectual stimulation, - It helps them categorize objects, -Apply problem solving skills, -Use symbols, - And develop memory (Grimes, 2004). *A babies brain can be overstimulated if subjected to light, sound touch or smell that is too overwhelming (Grimes, 2004). *Pre-mature babies may have more trouble with intellectual development (Grimes, 2004). *Studies have shown that pleasing music can be benificial to a child's reception to learning (Hoffman, 2003). |
