Earth As Art!
The ban on metal lunchboxes goes national, and in 1985, Rambo is the last metal lunchbox ever produced.
Lunchboxes begin the long slow journey into night. The transition into plastic also lowers the value of boxes
for collectors, as the artwork and design become less and less sophisticated.
A series of Landsat satellites have imaged the Earth's surface for nearly thirty years, providing data for applications in business, science, education, government, and national security.

This exhibition showcases Landsat 7 images, from the collection of Landsat photographs held in the Geography and Map Division, which have been selected for aesthetic rather than scientific value. These images are actual pictures of the Earth, created by printing visible and infrared data in colors visible to the human eye. Band combinations and colors were chosen to optimize their dramatic appearance.

It's not just schools that must comply with the new Children's Internet Protection Act, public libraries must comply also.  See how the ALA is fighting to keep the Internet accessible to all!
FIGHT CIPA!!
Update:  Many elementary and middle schools in Ventura Co. do not have as much content filtered as OUHSD.  Although they have St. Bernanrd software, their district technology dept. has not elected to filter as rigorously as OUHSD.  You can't access as much of the internet at 5th graders in Oxnard can!!!
