Callbook and Callsign FAQ
Q7: Can I get a copy of a callbook listing?

A7: Sure. I can email you a scanned image of a listing, and you can print it out yourself. (I'll include a copy of the book's title page, so you can show which book it's from.) I can even send you a paper photocopy if you want, but I may ask you to pay my postage and copying charges. (Emails are free.)

Contact me if you would like one. Sometimes there's a delay in sending you the scans, because I only run my scanner occasionally. So I have a pile of "to be scanned" books, and keep adding to the pile until it totals about six requests. Then I run a scanning session to do all of them at once. It usually only takes a couple of weeks for the requests to build to this point, so the wait isn't that long. If you need it sooner, please let me know. I can usually accommodate you.

If you will be using your callbook listing for license credit at an amateur radio testing session (see
FAQ #6), here are a few suggestions:

a. Bring extra copies of your printout of the callbook pages.

b. Notify the VEs in advance of your intentions, just to make sure you bring enough copies for them. This also gives them a chance to brush up on the rules.

c. In some rare situations, VEs have not been aware of the rule change that allows use of callbooks for license credit. If you run into this, you can contact the VEC that accredits them (e.g.,
ARRL or W5YI) and ask for help. Or contact me, and I'll help you find a solution.
