Here is the page for prospective members to read.
There are only a few basic rules for creating your RPG character:
1. The only species can be either kats, panthera genus (such as a lion, a lynx, a puma, or a tiger), dogs, or dog derived (such as a wolf, a fox, or a coyote). No exceptions.
2. The only sex can be either male or female. Also, no characters that are attracted to the same or both sexes. Again, no exceptions.
3. On magical powers, limited. For the reason that if your character has too many powers, or those that do mass destruction, it takes the fun out of playing. True? If your char has powers, keep them SIMPLE.
4. Don't make them too perfect. Everyone as strengths and weaknesses. Sure, your char can have great looks and strength, but that detracts from realism if it's "Too good to be true", no?
5. Your char shouldn't know the SWAT Kats or who the SWAT Kats are. Nor should they be related to any of the chars already in the RPG. So, you can't make a char that's related to, say, Crash.
6. Realism is the key here. Keep physical details sane, for the most part. Anyone over 7 feet tall is a bit odd, yes?
7. Make your BIO detailed. It's always good to make sure all the little things about your char are in there. If you need help with details, we'd be more than glad to help out.
8. No super-rich multi-millionaires. Just for the fact that they are a rarity in real life, not to mention, well, it's just... odd. "Keepin' it Real."*
9. Your char can't always be a vigilante. Sometimes it's better to have him/her just out there, waiting for something to happen, then helping. For this reason a Code Name is not necessary right off the bat.
10. Might consider giving your char a job. A few of the RPG chars (Konrad, Chance, Jake) are business owners, and hence, the possibility of them hiring you. So, either you can leave it N/A or create someplace (OfficeMax, Fazoli's, Sears, etc.).
11. Vehicles... yes, pretty much anything you want, with the exception of military vehicles (HumVees, tanks, jets, choppers). Hummers ARE okay, however, 'cause they're what us common civilian folk can get our hands on. :) Also, nothing that's too costly, such as a McLaren F1, Ferrari F50, Ford GT90, Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes CLK GTR, etc. (THANK you GT2 and Automobile Magazine! :) ) No TurboKat or Cyclotron either. :) "Is it heavy?" "Yeah." "Then it's expensive. Put it down."
12. On the subject of weapons... well, nope, nobody has unlimited access to arsenals. If your char has multiple weapons, we'll assume he/she carries one or two on him/her at a time. We wouldn't want to meet up with someone who's packing heat ten times over! :D Pistols are okay, for the most part, as long as they aren't full-auto. Machine guns, a no-no. Knives, sure, as long as they're aren't too ridiculous. Semi-autos are okay, on the other hand. And no, you can't have a Glovatrix! Sorry! Grenades, well, who the heck carries grenades on them? Plastique, perhaps...
13. No "Dr. Viper killed my family" type stuff either. ::yawn:: Boring. Make something... exciting! Your family doesn't have to die! Keep them alive! Make it interesting, use your imagination!
14. No insane people, either. Or people with the full intent of bad. Heck, sometimes the bad people seem to blend in... But full intent of good, however, that's okay with us. :)
15. Make it believable, make it good, make it detailed. We want you here, so make your BIO good!
16. Make sure you read over the rules, too.
17. Send your BIO to Nukta once you're finished with it. We'll then get back to you after a BIO review. Good luck!
Now, the next step is to create your new character! Click on the link below for the BIO form! And please, send us the BIOs in .txt format! Not .doc, .wpd, or so on! Just in text! Or copy-paste it into an email. At the beginning of each month, we allow the prospective RPGers to do a "Pre-RPG", to see how well they can RP.
It really helps your impression to type as good as you can, though typing and being able to Role Play are 2 things. You can type like a pro and RP like an idiot, or type halfway good and be a super RPer at the same time.
