Summery of Story Up to Chapter Eight

Shortly after the murders of Takatori Masafumi, a prominent biochemist in Shibuya-ka, and his four assistants, speculation arises on who is to blame. The media reasons that there were two murderers who participated in the crime.

They’re terribly wrong.

Takatori Sofia, the actual sister of Masafumi and undisputed leader of the four-pronged assassin group Tö dliche Kü nste, knows better. With the help of her group and assistance from her supervisor, Miss Estelle Warren, the assassination went over perfectly.

Or did it?

Suddenly, after the funeral of her brother, Sofia and the others realize that perhaps they weren’t the ones that killed Masafumi. In fact, they are all sure that Masafumi escaped seconds before his four “secretaries” were slain. Could it be, then, that someone else snuck in and finished the job? Did someone else have a personal vendetta against the wealthy scientist?

Suspicions arise as Marie, Rhiannon, and Autumn, the final members of Tödliche Künste, inarticulately start to contemplate whether Sofia was the one who murdered her brother. Could she have done it for the fame? Is she trying to break out of her position as mere Group Leader and…take over Kritiker, the head “business”? They all know with Masafumi gone, Sofia is one step closer to acquiring the immense fortune that is Takatori Incorporated.

Right before Masafumi’s funeral, Takatori Reiji, Sofia’s father and the owner of the family business, hires a bodyguard. Fearful that he will be the next one killed, the added security is a godsend. At first glance, the new addition, American grown Bradley Crawford, seems like a lackluster, ordinary guy. Or is he? Now with a secretary, the enigmatic Elise Karen, and a body guard, Reiji is assured of his safety.

It comes to Tödliche Künste’s realization that they have a vacation coming up. Even though their evenings are filled with combat and weaponry training, the four set out to enjoy their time off from “work”. One night, though, Sofia suddenly leaves the group in the middle of a training session to go visit her father. Immediately, suspicions run rampant between the other girls. In a split second, they decide to visit their headquarters, Kritiker, to find out information. They figure that if Persia and Estelle, their supervisors, are disbelieving of Sofia’s loyalty, then their own doubts will be justified. Although, to be caught snooping around for information about their leader would be mutinous, so the girls decide to go undercover…

But not all goes as planned.

On the other side of town, Sofia tries to drive onto the property of Takatori Inc, her family business, but she is denied access….on her father’s orders. She retaliates and tries to call him, but has no luck. So, using the skills she’s learned as an assassin, Sofia is able to sneak into the building and make her way up to her fathers office….

Only to find Elise Karen standing over her father with a gun.

Angered, Elise tries to eliminate Sofia for being a witness. The young Takatori hardly makes it out of the building alive before the place goes up in flames. With a shallow, bullet wound to the shoulder, Sofia finds herself in the hands of medical personnel at the scene…

Back at Kritiker, with information now acquired, the girls decide that it’s time to go. They’re found out that Sofia isn’t throwing up any red flags in the eyes of Persia and Estelle, so they decide to drop their accusations. Absentmindedly, Marie happens to switch on a TV in Persia’s office…only to see the first hand account of the burning at Takatori Inc. With the girls now distracted, they fail to duck out of view as a group of guards walk by. With their cover blown, they flee Kritiker…

And the story continues…
