·         Participated in an interview on the devastating effects of Tsunami that was telecast by private TV channel, Jaya TV on 27.12.2004 (in tamil)

·         Participated in a live broadcast by Rainbow FM 107.1 (All India Radio) on 31.12.2004 at 5.15pm under the theme “Ariviyal Arangam”(in tamil)

·         On the request of the Rotary Club of Tambaram, a lecture on the generation and propagation of Tsunami was delivered on 2nd Jan 2005

·         The effects of groins designed and executed under my supervision in Kanyakumari district and in Chennai in reducing the inundation of sea water, saving several villages were published in leading English daily newspapers, The Hindu, The Times of India, The Indian Express in English and in popular tamil magazines like Kumudam and anandavikatan

·         Member, Committee to review protection measures for future events of tsunami for the facilities of Dept of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India situated Kalpakkam, Chennai

·         Anti-sea works for Tamilnadu coast, for Public works department, Govt. of Tamilnadu.

·         Delivered a key note lecture titled “Tsunamis and their effects” in the National seminar on Geo-science and Environment organized by University of Madras 27-28 Jan 2005.

·         Invited to present a lead paper in the National workshop on Formulation of Science Plan for “Coastal Hazard Preparedness” in National Institute of Oceanography, Goa 18-19 Feb 2005. This is the follow up a Brainstorming session on the great tsunami of 26th Dec 2005 conducted by Dept. of Science & technology, Dept. of Ocean development and Indian National Science Academy, Govt. of India.
