Welcome to the VENEZIO family homepage

Hi all, and welcome to our humble Internet home. In case you don't already know, we are of Italian decent and are natives of Long Island, New York (except for Gina & Melinda). While you are here, let me introduce you to the family:

The Venezio Family 7-4-98

The Venezio Family: Mom, Gina Marie, Allen (me), Melinda, Jimmy, and Dad.

This picture was taken on July 4, 1998, at my wedding to Melinda.

Here is a brief biography of each of us followed by some links to other great Venezio family sites.

Al Venezio, my father, is recently retired from his 18 year business Dial-A-Repair, an at your doorstep auto repair service in Beverly Hills, FL. Dad now works as Vice President and Marketing Representative at Mom's business, Beverly Hills Print, Inc., and was also a professional trumpet player and band leader on Long Island, NY for 20 years prior to moving the family to Florida in 1977. Dad enjoys watching sports on TV (especially NFL football with me), music, his new black truck, and jokes. Dad is also very active in the community. He served as President of the Lecanto High School Band Boosters for 6 years, served as President of the US Jaycees, was a member of the school advisory committee, was a former member of the Beverly Hills Kiwanis and the Beverly Hills Lions Club. But most importantly, Dad is "THE BEST!"

Fran Venezio, my mother, is the President and C.E.O. of Beverly Hills Print, Inc., a full service printing facility. Mom is the only member of the family who is not musically inclined (we say that she can't carry a tune in a bucket). But, Mom has a plethora of other talents...what Italian mom isn't an exceptional cook! My Mom is the best cook around and if you are in town on December 24th, stop by our Annual Christmas Party! My Mom hosts the greatest Christmas celebration with tables of food, lots of lights, animated dolls, and other assorted holiday decorations. Christmas is Mom's favorite time of the year (mine too!). She has been faithfully by the sides of her husband and her children, always looking out for us.

My parents have three wonderful children...

I am the first born of three children. My name is Allen J. Venezio and I am a high school band director and professional trumpet player. I graduated from high school in 1991 and I went to college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. I taught band at my alma mater high school, Lecanto High School , for 1 1/2 years. I was also the director of The Chorus of Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills' community chorus for three years. I am now the band and choral director at Tavares High School in Lake County, FL. While in college, I became a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the professional fraternity for men in music. Some of my hobbies include computers, collecting coins, J.F.K. memorabilia, and researching the Titanic disaster. I love to watch NFL football with Dad and listen to high, fast, and loud trumpet players with my brother, Jimmy. Interestingly enough, my love of computers became the means for me to meet my wife. I met Melinda Sue Zepp Venezio while chatting on America Online and we were married on Saturday, July 4, 1998 surrounded by our wonderful friends and family.

My brother, James A. Venezio, is the engineer of the family. As a kid, Jimmy could make stuff out of household trash. He made dolls, alarm systems, and anything else you could imagine. Jimmy's freshman year of high school was my senior year and we spent a lot of time kicking up the band (yes, he plays trumpet too!). In addition to music, Jimmy was an accomplished wrestler and weightlifter in high school. Today, Jimmy is also a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising/Public Relations and the University of Phoenix with a Masters of Marketing. He now lives in Orlando, FL and is the co-founder of an automotive advertising company, Jungle Jimmy & the Zoo Crew friends made up of Alexander D. Great, Donnie the Dopey Ditto Bird, Pierre La Kiss, and many others. Jungle Jimmy is an accomplished ventriloquist, magician and balloon artist. Check out his web page linked on the family related web links page. Jimmy is a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia fraternity as well as the treasurer of the Central Florida Ventriloquist Association and editor of its monthly newsletter called Knock On Wood. He is engaged to Christy Sue Amey, a 1999 Tavares High School graduate who works as a dental assistant in Lake Mary, FL. Their wedding is set for October 16, 2004.

Gina Marie Venezio Wright, my baby sister, is the only family member native to the Sunshine State of Florida. In fact, she is a native of Citrus County! She graduated from high school on May 28, 1997 and yes, she plays trumpet as well. For the year and a half I spent at L.H.S., Gina was a student in my band and served as Drum Major, a position in which she received many awards and honors. She enjoys softball and was a member of the school's first ever Lecanto High School girls soccer team. She attended Central Florida Community College and graduated on August 6, 1999 with her Associates Degree. Gina, like her brothers, is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's in business. She now works as the Department Manager in the Publix deli. Gina's hobbies include collecting ceramic masks, shopping QVC and spending time with her husband, Ryan, who is the band director at Dunnellon High School. They got married on June 29, 2002. You can read more about them at their web page linked below.

My parents also have an equally wonderful daughter-in-law...

Melinda Sue Zepp Venezio, my wife and my parents only daughter-in-law, is also a Florida native. She was born in Boynton Beach, FL, three days after Jimmy, and spent some of her childhood in North Carolina before her family settled in Coral Springs, FL. She graduated from Coral Springs High School in 1994 and went on to study business at the University of Central Florida. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in December, 1997 and her BS in Business Administration on May 6, 2000. She now works as a clerk at Mount Dora Middle School and helps out with the THS Color Guard. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, computers and playing the flute.
