"There were many occasions I wished that Hydrant was there so I could pee on it." --Dennis Pavlich |
2008 In January 2008, Fire Hydrant rolled for AMS VP Academic & University Affairs. It finished a fairly close dead last. For various reasons, the turnout was quite low -- its share of the vote was higher than usual, but its absolute vote total was dismal. Its election site is archived here for posterity. Full results:
2006 In January 2006, Fire Hydrant rolled for UBC's Board of Governors a third time. Its election site is stored here, for your continued amusement. Full results:
The decision not to include Lyle McMahon on the ballot was appealed, that appeal was heard March 2, 2006. The appeal failed, and results were released late on March 9. The Hydrant was rather sad to miss, yet again. It was, however, pleased to win the rematch with Tim and come first in the paper ballots. In an ironic twist, Lyle (an international student) appealed to be able to run for BoG, despite his ineligibility due to citizenship restrictions, just in case they amended the legislation to permit him to serve. Legislation was introduced March 23 to allow international students to serve on BoG (and restore 1-year terms to student members of Senate and Board), and received royal assent March 30. Had Lyle been permitted to run and had he won, his term would have started April 1, and he would have been allowed to serve. 2005 In January 2005, Fire Hydrant rolled for UBC's Board of Governors a second time. It lost by 6 (six) votes. Its election site is stored here, also for your continued amusement. Full results:
2004 In January 2004, Fire Hydrant rolled for UBC's Board of Governors on the Radical Beer Faction slate. It lost by almost a factor of two. Its election site is stored here. Slates were banned immediately after this election. Full results:
