After re-installing jig on GTI and adding reference rear arms, jig is now bolted to shock towers after much measuring, re-measuring, and re-re-measuring and then welding the vertical arms. Reference points were top of the torsion bar housings where the castings are welded to the tube and the front subrame mount holes on the reference jig. They were measured directly and diagonally. Note cutout for clearance of thick RH axle |

The next step is to fab up the front mount chassis bracket, and then install the engine and tranny. Once the two are in place I will be able to see where there is room to place tubing for the superstructure triangulation. |
