Yangming Mountain
Jenny's parents came up one weekend and drove us to Yangmingshan National
Park- a mountain retreat just north of Taipei.
Beyond the natural beauty, one of the main reasons for going to Yangmingshan is the flowers. In early spring, everyone runs to see the azaleas. We went a little bit later, for the blossoming of the calia lilies.
You can walk through the fields and pick them, for about 30 cents apiece.
We also stopped by one of the geothermal areas of the region, known as Sulphur Valley. Be glad that you can only see it- we're smiling through a piercing odor of rotten eggs.
