Wulai
On a dreary February day, we drove with some friends south of Taipei to Wulai- a hot spring area best known for its famous waterfall.

Me, waterfall- needs no explanation.

Though the picture below might be a little difficult to see, I found this facinating:.....

The faint lines running across the river are actually pipes- the people living across the river are "stealing" water from the nearby spring, but instead of doing something communally, or with minimal impact, they have run separate pipes to each home. It's an unfortunate, but surprisingly common sight.

On the way back, we stopped at a tiny but famous roadside restaurant, where all they serve are cauldrons of goat stew (they call it lamb, but it ain't!). It was odd, but surprisingly good.
