Mankind has always harbored the urge to travel. It is by travel that we have discovered civilizations.
Cultures far different from our own provide a certain fascination even for the uninitiated amongst us.
What better way to discover a people, their culture and heritage, lifestyle and values than travel.
Perhaps the most significant aspect of the journey is not the process of getting there, but the experience
that it gives us. It is a wonderful way to discover what we really are and what we expect from ourselves
and how we can learn through our interaction with different people.
Though much has been written over the years on the subject, not much of it deals with providing
incentives for the budget traveler to embark on his or her journey.
In my attempt to provide the user information, I believe that one does not have to spend a lot of money
to accomplish something. Traveling on a budget, even if it is one that does not afford luxury can be fun.
My focus currently is for the backpack traveler from India who wants to visit Europe. More relevant
sections will be added as time goes by. Since resources on this topic are rather limited, and most are from
Western perspectives, it initiated this endeavor.
