It all started in 1997 when a lone guitar slinger named Chris Norman recently returned from a tour in California.  He teamed up with two budding musicians, one Joe Ergish, and one Marty Callahan.  The beginning was slow-going due to inexperience.  Chris and Marty were the two at this time that had any actual working time onstage.  Through working together the trio began writing songs that would soon become their first album, (Prototype, 1998).  Soon to follow was the second CD Release of self titled (Vincent Black Shadows, 1999).

Around this time Chris wanted to begin putting more work into the guitar parts and decided to recruit a young singer/guitarist they had recently met, named Jim Connors.  With the added addition, they were able to work on a more professional level in composing and songwriting.

Recently the band has begun work in the studio on a new release with songs from previous recordings and new songs that the band has written since the three became four.  Vincent Black Shadows is now working to establish themselves as a solid part of Albuquerque's budding music scene.
