My name is MaryJane Hadley. My father's  name was John AmnotTE, His
brothers' name's were Delphis AmnoT, and Wilfred AmnotT (jr), my
grandfather's name was Wilfred AmnoT (born 1897), his father's (my
GGrandfather's name was Peter (Pierre) Amnot or Amiot), and I think
his wife's name was Helene/Helen. He (Peter),was born in the 1860's
(not sure of EXACT date) My Uncle said he THINKS they came from
Sherbrooke. My father said that his Grandfather (Peter/Pierre) was
born in France. They think that the family was from the Alsace-
Lorraine area). None of this is definite. My Grandfather's death
cetificate says he was born on one date and the census and his
marriage certificate (according to the Nat'l Archives) says he was
born on another date. I know that my Grandmother's death certificate
says that she was older than my Grandfather...but the marriage
certificate says that they were the same age.???????????????? My
Grandmother's name was Mary Quarry. Her parents were both from
Waterford Ireland. My father's said that his father and his family
ALL settled in the Lewiston/Auburn area and Roland Amnot was the
Chief of Police there....AND Roland Amnotte was a cousin. Also, when
they were children, my Grandfather took them to Maine (They were
living in Lynn, Massachusetts at the time). My Uncle's and my father
had to stay at someone else's house other than where my Grandfather
and grandmother were staying because my father and uncles did NOT
speak french. I was also told (according to Maurice Amnot of Bangor,
Maine, a protestant minister, that the WHOLE family were originally
French Huegenots.....not Catholic. he said anyone who was Catholic
had converted to Catholisism either due to marriage to a catholic or
in order to "FIT" in.?????? However, I am still trying to piece
together the Roland connection and where Wilfred and Pierre fit in. I
don't understand how ANYONE can be born and not leave ANY kind of
trace of their existence whatsoever! Anyway that is about all I can
tell you about my family at the time. Oh, I forgot one more detail.
I spoke to a Mary Ann (Amnot) Coffey in Ashland, Massachusetts a few
years ago. I got her phone # from Maurice Amnot, (who of course is
DEAD now.) She told me on the telephone, that she remembered hearing
about a Wilfred Amnot, who left Maine and went to Boston, he worked
in the shoe factories and married an Irish girl. Mary Anne said that
she is related to Roland Amnot, Lillian Amnot, Jeanette Amnot, and
Maurice Amnot. There was also someone who's LAST name was Lambert,
they came to see us just after they got married. I was somewhere
between 4 or 6 years old at the time. That would have been in the
late 40's early 50's (1940-1950). If I can think of anything else I
                will let you know.
                Thanks, MJ Hadley

Who are the parents of Francis Villeneuve (who married Philomene Asselin)?
       From:
                "Nancy Auclair" <modested@adelphia.net>

My husband and I found a microfilm for that parish and we were hoping
that if we could get you back far enough that you would be able to make
the connection that you were looking for on Mammy (Raymond) Villeneuve.

(Mammy Villeneuve's parents are Arthur Villeneuve and Victoria Duvernay)

Below is what Nancy found on the microfilm for Tupper Lake, N.Y.:

                1. John Alfred Villeneuve (I think that he was an infant) died in
1902 - son of Joannis (John) Villeneuve and margarite Horton

                2. Alma Attaline Villeneuve (that is what the middle name looks
like), born 1903 daughter of Albert Villeneuve and Marie Armstrong

                3. Napoleon Ernest, born 1911 son of Arthur Villeneuve and Victoria
                Duvernais

                4. Marian Regina, born 1913 to Arthur Villeneuve and Victoria
                Duvernay

                5. Arthur Villeneuve married 1910 to Victoria Duvernay - he was the
                son of
Francis Villeneuve and Philomene Asselin.

                6. Mary Elizabeth, born 1904 to John Villeneuve and Margaret Horton.

My family is not related to the Villeneuve family - I was only
continuing my help to you from our previous discussions about
Mammy Villeneuve of Tupper Lake, NY. Good luck to you.

Hi I was looking in your family tree and the names look familiar. I
was wondering if you would be related to Alexandre Villeneuve he lived
in New York (Watertown). He imigrated from (riviere Blanche or riviere
du Lievre) He was father to Raoul Emile Leo and Yvonne. If you have
any information would you please let me know.

                Hello,

My name is Tricia and I'm doing research on my family
tree. I came accross your web site doing a search on
"Moose Creek" as that is where my great grandparents
                and grandfather are from.

The family name that I am researching is Chevrier. My
                great grandfather "Francois-Xavier Chevrier" married
"Alida Villeneuve" on 29 Aug 1898 in Moose Creek,
Ontario. I'm thinking that she is probably a member
of your branch of the Villeneuve family as Moose Creek
is not a very large community.

If you have any information on Alida I would greatly
appreciate hearing from you. I could not find any
reference to her on your site.

Thank you in advance for your help and I look forward
                to hearing from you.

                Regards,

                Tricia MacDermid

Subject: George Lamyotte

I found the web site. I am looking for information on a George
Lamyotte. He was my great grandpa. This is all that I know on George
Lamyotte. I know that he had a daughter who was my great
grandmother. Her name was Lucille Katherine Kamyotte (Typo?). She was born
nov 28, 1896 in St. Ignace, MI. and died Jan 13, 1971. She married Lucian
Centilli. George drove the ferry boat from lower penninsula to the upper
penninsula before the bridge was built. He lost a friend in one of the
pillars (13) when they were filling it with cement he fell in and was buried
alive in the pillar. I don't know much more. I know some of the centilli
                name. but still searching.
My great grandma Lucille Lamyotte Married Lucian Centilli. My grandma
was Shirley Centilli. So any Centilli that leads to Lamyotte is related to me.
                Could you help me?

Subject: Villenauve Surname

Hi,  I'm looking to trace back my ancestry on the Villenauve
(my father's side).

I only go back three generations but I will list them here.
I also would like tips on how best to go about it.  I have
three contacts of poeple in their seventies that I am in
that I have received information but I am lookin to go further
back in time.

My father name was Robert Wilford Villenauve
Grandfather - Wilford Villenauve
Great grandfather was Edward Meddy Villeanuve

I have birth dates, pictures, stories, etc of all of the above
but I am unable to go back further generations. I have a picture
at home which lists names of all Ed Meddy Villenauve siblings.

They are Nettie, Lillie, Carla, Henry, Louis, George, Walter.

They are all from the Green Bay, Wisconsin area.  Eddy knew some
french and I was told from two different sources that we were
originally from Canada.  I have'nt yet gone into your web site
for registered people so please excuse me for possibly being
ignorant on information that may be easy to acquire.

Subject: Villenauve Surname
My fathers name is Donald James Villenauve and he is 60 years old.
We was raised in Morris MI.  His father passed when he was 12 years
old and his mother left thereafter.  My father will not discuss his
parents or theirs for that matter but I am interested to know.  My wife
and I are residents of Hudson, OH.

UPDATE:
I called my Mom and found that my great grandfather was not the
Villenauve, it was my Grandmother.  Her name was/is (we do not know
if she is alive) Donna Villenauve.  My father was born at Providence
Hospital in Detroit, MI.  At the time of my fathers birth (Donald James
Villenauve), my  Grandfather would have been 51 and my Grandmother,
Donna, 21.  To the best of my knowledge, they never wed.   At nine
months he was at the mercy of the state and was with foster parents
until the age of 17.

Unfortunately, without my fathers help (you can understand why he has
no desire to dig) I may be doing the needle in the haystack thing.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
