Parting is such sweet sorrow, but pa-ting is such
a succulent fish, you'll want to order all three variations.
Pa-ting is a fatty fish bred only in the owner's
farm, the fresh water fish is also rich in omega fats which is good
for you, and if you are eating alone or there are just the two of
you you can order half a fish.
Most full tables order a half pa-ting (perhaps
that's why it's called pa-ting) steamed, and the other half
tom-yammed.
There is a third way they cook it but I forget
(omega fats are not memory boosters) - I was so consumed by its
delicious full and smooth taste.
"They" are the Village Wok restaurants, number 10
Lorong 3 in Geylang, not your Nobu-type district but such great
eating.
It is a spare, bright, clean air con coffee shop
style restaurant, with a history (story's on the menu) and there are
six signature dishes, the house specials, every one good.
