Specialties: A family-run business set up
in 1999, the Village Wok Restaurants serve heritage-old Canton
village cuisine and they are best known for their Steamed Live
Pa-Ting, which uses only fish bred in their springwater farm so
there is no muddy smell. We loved their Oyster Noodles as well,
where fresh oysters are sautéed over high heat with thick Chinese
noodles and slathered with a subtly flavoured sauce. Their Village
Smoked Chicken, served with a robust ginger sauce, is a must-try.
Savour the chicken with a side serving of olive fried rice, replete
with bits of olives, spring onions and sesame seeds fried to a
fragrant crisp. Another recommendation is their XO deep fried
tofu.
Ambience: With its fuss-free table
settings and fixtures, the Village Wok Restaurants outlet at Thomson
Plaza has a cheerful, unpretentious ambience that instantly puts one
at ease.
