Malaysia is situated in South East Asia, north of Singapore and south of Thailand. The South China Sea separates part of Malaysia on the island of Borneo that is shared between Malaysia, Brunei & Indonesia.

Malaysia is basically a democracy with general elections occurring every three to four years. As a former English colony Malaysia's political structure essentially follows the British parliamentary system.

The Malaysian currency is called the "Ringgit" and the coins are called "Sen" which basically means Dollars and Cents in the local language Bahasa Malaysia which in turn means Malaysian Language (More information in www.mol.com.my/bahasa/home.htm)

Malaysia as a country has a certain amount of uniqueness about it that I find enchanting. One major factor that makes Malaysia fascinating is the proximity of open food stalls, McDonald's outlets and expensive gourmet restaurants in any major city or town in Malaysia.
