Tchaikovsky's music has always been a favourite of classical music lovers and ballet lovers alike. He was probably more famous for his ballets, like Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet than his other works.
The Nutcracker has many themes which are easily recognizable, like The Dance of the Reed Flutes, The Nutcracker March and The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies.
His 1812 Overture is the pinnacle of his work. It, and the Pathetique Symphony (no. 6) are regarded as his best.
Tchaikovsky's music is widely loved across the classical music world. Its harmonies, tunes and dramatic qualities make it superb.
