The Perpetual Trophy for Best Club for 2001:
This shield is not about how the teams perform, it is awarded to the club that the Vic League Committee considers to have made the greatest effort to support Vic League for the year. Past winners were Campbellfield in 1999 and Dandenong in 2000.
This year, this trophy was awarded to Beechworth.
