Welcome |
Established in 1949, The Wesley Players are based at the Methodist Church in Hall Lane, Upminster, Essex, in a purpose built hall seating up to 160 people. We gave our first public performance, She Stoops to Conquer, in October 1949, so we've been around a while! Whilst we don't have any of those original members still with us, we do have quite a few members that have been around 20 years or more so we must be doing something right!. We are a warm friendly bunch who socialise together but who also welcome newcomers in with open arms. |
We offer 3 productions a year to the public, January, May and September, January always being a pantomime. We also provide the church with a couple of productions a year, in lieu of rent, which may be a Nativity or Easter Play, or maybe something humorous for Harvest Festival. We also provide entertainment for charity events and have even been known to take our Pantomime 'on tour' to such places as the local Children's Hospital. |
Visit the pages of our resident playwright, Terry Mustoo, for some wonderful Panto scripts. |
Auditions You can join our group at any time and become involved with other aspects of the production as well as standing in for absent cast members. Auditions for our September 2009 will begin Monday 1st June 2009. If you are interested, please email me at Auditions. WANTED: Wardobe Mistress/Master! |
